Well Hello There,

I’m April

I’m your Fairy Dance Godmother… I create magical experiences with dance education for children who LOVE to dance!

Super Into: snow-balls, 90’s hip-hop, good dance classes, creating and celebrating little moments, and dreaming big!

Through our award-winning studio, Hello Dancer, we’ve helped parents like you keep your child’s dance education simple, enjoyable, and unforgettably fun for both YOUR YOUNG DANCER and YOU!

After a decade of owning two pre-professional dance studios, coaching professional sports dance teams, teaching university dance courses, and developing a children’s program for a major dance studio in Hollywood, I finally discovered what was missing in the dance industry.

A young boy in a black Adidas tracksuit is smiling while doing a breakdance move on a light-colored wooden floor with a decorated pink Christmas tree in the background.

Once I had my first son, I saw things from a different perspective.  He was 5 at the time, and just wanted to have fun and learn to dance, not necessarily dance in a big recital or spend half of the year and most of every class perfecting a single 3-minute dance.  ((He was 5!))

…wait, why had this never dawned on me before?  As a studio owner in the past who did big recitals and competitions, I knew the extra stress and pressure this put on children at such a young age.  Yet we all rolled with the traditional dance studio model and you were either in or out.

My son’s school (like many out there) focused a whole lot on the emphasis on the individual goals of each child, and the good ol’ playground seemed to be shrinking away.  This is where I thought my kiddo would pick up on essential social skills.

I knew that having that time to move, create, and explore with other kids is fuel for a child’s all-around development.  I wanted to give my child that much needed escape from electronics, instant gratification, inward focus, and allow him to simply be a kid.

Children and adults gather outdoors for a ribbon-cutting ceremony. A young boy is holding large scissors, preparing to cut a rainbow-colored ribbon, while a woman smiles nearby. Several spectators, including children and adults, are watching the event.

Little did I know this would be the spark to open a magical dance studio.  One that would break away from the traditional mold studios have followed since the beginning of time and build one that solely focuses on the needs of young dancers

No recitals, no competitions, no stress-all magic, putting the fun into the FUNdamentals of dance!
